Types of depilation wax
Hair removal waxes are available in a wide range, differing in many ways, one of which is the melting point of the wax.
Waxes can be classified based on their melting point:
Waxes can be classified based on their melting point:
- Cold wax;
- Warm wax;
- Hot wax;
Cold wax is a great solution for removing unwanted hair as it does not require special heating devices. It is usually available in two forms: as ready-made wax strips or in a tube. The pre-made strips simply need to be heated between the palms of your hands, separated and applied to the skin with hair, and then make a sharp movement to remove the strip against the growth of the hair. This method is very convenient and easy to use, ensuring effective hair removal.
Warm wax usually comes in special cassettes with a roller, although you can sometimes find it in jars as well. Preheating is required for use. Special cassette wax melters or water baths are often used to heat the wax.
When the wax reaches the viscous state of honey after heating, it is applied to the skin with a roller or a special spatula, depending on which form of wax packaging was used (cassette or jar). Then, to remove the wax, a paper or non-woven strip is used.
To achieve a smoother and more effective result, it is important to properly heat the wax to the right consistency and apply it precisely to the skin, following the instructions and techniques recommended by the manufacturer. This will help achieve the best waxing experience.
Hot wax is a favourite of professional waxers. Comes in briquettes, tablets, plates and pellets. Requires heating from 37-40 to 50-55°C depending on the composition. The wax can be heated in a wax-melter, microwave or water bath.
It is applied to the skin with a spatula or spatula. It is removed after curing without the use of strips, it forms a plastic thin pellet that does not stretch or tear, and retains hair well. That's why it's also known as a film wax: it forms a thick film on the skin when it hardens, which can be removed in one piece.
Jars of wax usually come with a convenient special handle that makes it easy to remove the wax from the wax melter or water bath. This allows the wax to be used effortlessly and provides extra comfort when applying it.
When it comes to wax bars, they should be kept out of the reach of children, as the appearance of the wax can confuse it with ordinary chocolate. This is important to avoid children accidentally consuming wax, who may mistake it for sweet food.
There is no particular difference between wax in cans, tablets or granules. The use of one form of packaged wax or another depends on the amount of work you plan to do in a single session.
If you are planning to remove the moustache above your upper lip, you will only need a few granules of wax. However, if you're going to remove hair on your chest, back and legs, it's advisable to prepare a sufficient amount of wax. In this case, it's worth heating up a whole tin of wax and having another one in reserve in case you need it.
