Top 10 tips on how to extend the life of your manicure
Surely every representative of the soft sex dreams of a beautiful manicure. But besides that, she wants the manicure to last longer on the nails. But unfortunately in everyday life, this does not always work out. We will reveal to you a few secrets that will help you prolong the life of your manicure. Therefore, write it down for yourself somewhere, or better yet, remember it.
So, those 10 tips!
TIP NMBER 1: CHOOSING A SAFE NAIL POLISH
An incorrectly selected varnish will lead to overdrying of the nail plate. The result of this choice is brittle, peeling nails, skin irritation and allergic reactions. To avoid this, we give preference to varnishes with a safe formula marked on the label «5-free». They do not contain potentially harmful substances - formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, phthalates, camphor.
TIP NUMBER 2: GLASS NAIL FILE
Use before painting your nails so that the coating does not lose its appearance the very next day. They «seal» the edge of the nail, preventing it from flaking.
TIP NUMBER 3: USE A DEGREASER
Before applying the varnish, thoroughly degrease the nail plate. This is a very important procedure, since there are residues of fat on the nails, which interferes with the strong adhesion of the varnish to the nail plate.
TIP NUMBER 4: USE A BASE BEFORE AND AFTER
Always use a base coat. Thanks to her, the manicure will last longer, the color will be deeper and more even. The base promotes stronger adhesion to the base coat, protects nails from staining and strengthens the nail plate. For best results, it is advisable to use a base of the same brand as the varnish. The final stage is also a base layer. This is important: since it is the tips of the nails that are prone to chips, we work them out with two additional layers of the base.
TIP NUMBER 5: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH VARNISH
The most common mistake is too much varnish at one time. Many people think that it is better to apply a lot of varnish at once and wait until it dries. But after an hour, the varnish is still smeared, and there is no even coating. It is better to paint the nails 3-4 as thin as possible and wait to avoid bubbles and irregularities. Before each layer, it is imperative to wait one or two minutes so that the solvent in the varnish has time to evaporate, otherwise we will damage our nails and will not achieve a persistent manicure.
TIP NUMBER 6: PROPER NAIL DRYING
- The procedure «Dip your fingertips in ice water for a couple of minutes to dry the varnish faster» does not work. At first glance, the varnish really dries, but this is just an illusion. In fact, this method only changes the consistency of the varnish, which in no way prolongs the life of the manicure.
- «Blowing on your nails» is a myth! Technically, only the top layer dries, but not the entire coating. In addition, tiny droplets of saliva can get on your nails, resulting in small bubbles.
The correct way to dry quickly is to use special products, because they are designed to oxidize the varnish from the inside. And the best thing is to let them dry naturally.
TIP NUMBER 7: DAILY NAIL AND CUTICLE CARE
In order for the manicure to last for the maximum amount of time, regular care of the skin of the hands and nails is necessary. So use cuticle oil or hand cream every day to avoid drying out. To deeply repair dry and cracked cuticles, use shea butter, jojoba or almond butter. It is best to rub in with massage movements for more than one minute. This simple procedure will relieve unpleasant dryness and irritation, which will help prevent chipping.
TIP NUMBER 8: PROTECTING OURSELVES
When washing dishes or cleaning, always use gloves to protect your nails and manicure from water and chemicals. Nothing shortens the age of a manicure as rapidly as household chemicals and hot water. And do not let the varnish come into contact with antiseptics.
TIP NUMBER 9: DON'T SHAKE THE VARNISH BOTTLE
Do not shake the bottle of varnish before use, then the manicure will come out with bubbles and will peel off very soon. Remember! the bottle must be gently rolled between the palms.
TIP NUMBER 10: COVER NAILS WITH FIXER
Use special fixers and apply them every two days to avoid cracks and give the varnish an extra shine. Thus, the manicure will give a fresh impression for a long time.
We are confident that if you follow these tips, your manicure will live longer, oh how long.
